Here are a few miscellaneous things I've done recently.
First, a blotter. If you use a fountain pen, you really need a blotter. Oak and purpleheart, finished with WOP.
Second, some tea lights. These are really popular with the wife. Finish is basic - tung oil and wax. I've made them from maple, walnut, and teak, and also combinations.
Third, a seam ripper. The hardware came from the dollar store. In this example, the wood started out as some kind of anonymous firewood. Toughest wood I've ever tried to work - very tight grain, but with a restrained figure. Finished in a couple of coats of BLO and thin CA.
