Here are a few more pens I did this week.
First off, a 50 caliber pen (from PSI) with a walnut grip. These things are huge!
Next, a Slimline Pro pen & pencil set with spalted myrtle.
Finally, my first one-piece slimline. It's a copper pencil with a cocobolo blank.
The tutorial in the library says to use the centerband and trim it down to fit inside the barrels, but I couldn't do that because it wouldn't fit over my mandrel. So I just glued each barrel in individually and smeared some epoxy inside the barrels also to add a little more strength.
The one-piece shows off the beautiful grain better than with a centerband. It's easier to make and looks nicer, so it's a win/win in my book!:good:
