Made these from old Jam tree fence posts. They are finished with linseed oil.

Jim, when the green posts were cut they were drilled almost immediately for the wires to go through. This needed to be done before the wood dried and hardened.
Most posts survived more than 100 years.

Love that rustic look. The one on the far left looks like it's had a long, hard life. It deserves to be put in a place of honor in someone's home.

Bob, your work is always an inspiration.
I've got some old cedar posts that are 50-70 years old from fences that I helped my dad build when I was just a young whippersnapper. I'm going to have to try to make some bottles & vases - looks like fun turning.
