I actually got to turn yesterday!!!

About a year ago, I bought about 20+ blanks from somebody here and they are wonderful pieces of Brown and Red Mallee burl. Here are two of them They are finished with Deft Wipe on Lacquer and buffed Tripoli, White Diamond, and Carnuba Wax: The one on the right had dark edges that were basically burnished in until the lacquer smoked. They both had natural edges that show just a little on the top.

One suggestion: Avoid pointed stopper tops. I'd venture to say 9/10ths of the time, when someone is pushing the stoppers into the bottles they use the palm of their hand. If it's a snug fit (which it should be) then they're going to hurt their palm.

Skye,
Dude!! Good Point!! (pun intended..... )

Note to Self: No more points on Bottle Stoppers.....

Thanks for the tip. I guess I really didn't consider it as I hold the stopper by the body of it. Appreciate it!!
