A couple of new home-casts

I haven't been turning for a few weeks. Overload of unsold pens met a lot of other issues that had me out of the mood to turn anything. The top one is a bad reverse paint, the paint went on well, but it hated the CA during the glue-up. Live and learn. On to yet another variety of paint. The bottom one came out a bit better, and it sat mostly finished on the mandrel for quite a while. Just didn't feel like finishing it.

No, sir. Excellent question! We got a good supply of regular PR going and we got a better casting station.

This is genuine PR, we've been having fun building a casting center for the workshop. I do like that green one he created.

That's one of my favorite color combinations and it doesn't seem to happen all too often. I cast the green with the full intent to put it on a gold kit.

I just love a good green blank. And this one makes one great looking pen! Beautiful. And I honestly like the pink as well.

It's gunmetal. I would have preferred black chrome, but ya work with what ya got.

Both look good in the photos. You might give epoxy a run to avoid the paint interaction. Tis not as quick,but is high on the reliabilty scale.

That green would be spectacular on a long one piece cigar.

I still gotta try out the one piece cigar when I get the extra bits and pieces for it.
