A couple of magnetic Vertex rollerballs

I really like the Vertex family of pens, including the click ballpoints, and the fountain and rollerballs. I've made several of the click version, and a couple of the Vertex Supreme fountain pens. These are the rollerball version that use a single body, and come with a magnetic metal cap. I love how the cap holds to the pen and posts magnetically. Both of these are gun metal finish.

The first is obviously acrylic, and one of my favorite blanks. It's the "blue ripples" acrylic acetate from Woodturningz.

This one has a wood body, and I had a lot of problems. It took me three tries with three different blanks to get this one done. I think it was worth all the frustration and effort. You can read about the problems (if you're interested) here:

I'm not sure about the wood, I have a lot of these blanks that I've had for years. They might be Thailand rosewood.

Well done, Jim. The Vertex is also my favorite, but I've not done that model. Real nice job with the acrylic finish.
