These are a couple of barons I finished recently. The first is beached Wenge, just 15min. in the bleach. The second is also Wenge I beached then dyed it with some alcohol dye.

Looks great! I've always preferred we be bleached but now I'm envisioning andding some orange dye. They both turned out great!

Thank you all. Yes, bleaching the Wenge is my preferred method as well. I haven't tried it with any other woods does it work as well with any others?

The dye looks great! Back in 2008 I did some compound cut ornaments of wenge for an article in a special issue for Scrollsaw Woodworking and Crafts magazine https://www.foxchapelpublishing.com/magazines/holiday-ornaments-toys-and-gifts.html and I used red aniline dye on bleached wenge much like your pen. I also did the same with a green dye (Hut brand I believe), and those ornaments are my favorite ornaments I ever done. The dye looks outstanding on bleached wenge for sure.
