A commission for a lover of chrome & blue

I was commissioned to make a pen sporting lots of chrome, with blue anodising.

I chrome plated half the lid, and anodised the remainder and the body, with a matching centreband and custom finial.

I'm rather taken with how this one turned out

First step is a metal lathe. If you already have one, what's stopping you :tongue:

The trouble with plating is the chemicals used are not available from local stores like they are for anodising and etching. I have pondered it, though I'm not sure on the legalities of shipping the chemicals as they are corrosive, and some toxic. I'm planning on supplying anodising and etching systems soon, so once I've got those under way, il look into the feasibility of supplying chrome and gold systems systems too. (Golds expensive, over $300 just for the electrolyte, let alone the rest of the actual hardware.)
