A Cambridge,Rosewood burl,walnut oil

While making some inventory pens I came across this blank.after making the pen I got to thinking that it was a nice piece of wood to cover with plastic
so I thought that when I make furniture stuff I just use oils on the finish,so I used walnut oil on the pen.
It isn't a water clear shine but I love the look and feel,something different
that I think got lost with all the CA finishes we do.

Love it Mark. Totally with you on the wood pen finishes. I try not to use CA on wood, and only do so when the wood seems too delicate. All of my customers pick up a wooden pen and remark on how tactile it is.

Really nice Mark. I like that finish too. I use walnut oil on every pen that I make then put my finish on top of that. That is a beautiful blank and you really show it off well.

nice looking pen i like the look and feel of wood, i use 'doctor's woodshop' products, and have made a batch of capt'n eddy's shine juice' both worked well for me.
