I've gotten a few hits from folks who otherwise wouldn't read the blog. At the next show I do I am thinking of printing this up and offering it with the finished pen for sale.

Woodcrest Woodworking: Creating A Pen

That's a really really nice blog... I've been kicking around an idea of doing a blog similar... I do more bowls and such than I do pens, but started my turning career on pens some 12-13 years ago... thanks for the re-inspiration.

Nice sequence of "how to". For me, I never get tired of seeing picture ways of making a pen, even tho I know what the process is. You did a good job! Thanks

You might want to have some pictures of the assembly process for the pens.
The rest looks pretty good

I thought about that, but the assembly process is really the only spot where things are different for each kit. Also, for the mesa style pens, assembly isn't that exciting, just press in one piece and screw the rest together. I suppose I could do the sequence again with a slimline or some such.

Don't give away all your secrets. After all, if customers see how easy assembly USUALLY goes:eek:, some of the mystique disappears and they may soon question pricing.

That's another reason I didn't include assembly.... I also didn't show the finishing steps - that is probably more important than everything else to get a really good pen.
