A Banksia Christmas

Every year I make the family members a different/new pen for for Christmas. This year I remembered I had a box of banksia pods on the shelf that needed attention. Here's what I came up with (1 of 35 …. I still have 2 more to turn ).

Banksia pod in mica green urethane resin with a Gluboost finish on a Diamond Knurl ball point.

Thank you and Yes, it's been a two week project between casting and turning with many interruption. (I shot some video of the process to eventually edit for You Tube). I will be very happy to be done with them all tomorrow!

Awesome. Every time I see one of those things turned into something beautiful I think I ought to try one. Know anyone who sells pods that have been cast in colored resin like this?
