9 inch band saw - sears/craftsman. 1/3 horsepower. This weak little piece of machinery can do wonders with a 3/4 inch pen blank. But try to put something 1 inch thick in there and it will quickly grind to a stop and bend the blade . . . It powers through a pen blank, and then I am convinced it can handle a 1 1/2 inch piece of basswood and it screeches to a halt. I apparently don't have the discipline to stick to 3/4 inch pieces with it. I have recently upgraded and would be glad if someone in my favorite penturning group would like to take it off my hands. It is free. Pick up only - northern Cincinnati area. And I'll probably throw in a couple pens blanks if you are interested (I have more than I will ever turn in my lifetime).
