A couple years ago, I was talked into putting a video up on youtube to show how I turned a pen (at the time). So, it forced me to learn to use video editing software. At the time, I was also having cataract problems, so I was nearly blind, making the software VERY difficult for me.

NOW, this year my vision is GREAT!!! And, I have gotten much faster with the editing software. But, the shock is, my videos have now been viewed nearly FIFTY THOUSAND times!!! Well, actually 49435 (thus the "565 and counting").

So, if you'd like to see the latest in the series, click on the link: Turning "chequered flag" blank - YouTube

With over 49000 views, I like to think I have helped a few turners get over the "fear of plastic"!! 150 have subscribed!! I hope these vids can help YOU, too.

Thanks for watching!! "Like" or "subscribe" if you like, there will be more in the next couple weeks.

Now you have to get fancy and put a live link in the end of your videos so viewers can click right through to exotics. :)

Gah NM about the live links.. It would seem that use 'normal' people can only embed to other youtube videos. Looks like the only ones with live links in the video to their website are large scale retailers that get permission form youtube.

However, you should be able to make your description live link. Just put http:// on the front of it when you type it in. Having a live link in there will easily increase traffic to your site from your videos....

Hey Ed,

I have threatened my wife for years with watching the original MPG video. Somehow, inexplicably, she doesn't seem to want to enjoy it with me.

Thanks for taking the time to create and share your video series. Every time I hear your voice it reminds me of my friend, Ed. Carry on, sir.

Good numbers Ed, and THANK YOU for the time and money you've invested putting the videos together and sharing with everyone.

great video. gotta make me a buffing 'stick'

An old mandrel rod (fits all size tubes), a blank you will never put on a pen (turned round), and some epoxy makes a good one.
BTW, I also made an extra piece to go on the other end that is loose (drill it out with a little bigger drill than the mandrel so it can slide easily). It keeps the blank from getting away and ending somewhere else in the shop DAMHIKT!!
