Just celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary. I look back and wonder where the years went. I was 19, he was 23, and we were both in the military. Can't possibly have been that long ago.

Congrats Sharon. I've got #40 coming up in August and can't believe it's been that long. Loving every second of it.

Congratulations Sharon, your husband must feel like a pretty lucky guy!

On another note, I considered myself one of the older types on the forum but I guess I really belong over in the kiddie section, we've only been married 37 years!

We have a way to go yet to catch up but they will be enjoyable years!!! We are coming up on 24 in Sep. We were both 21 when we met and 25 when we married. We met in Haifa Israel, she was there working at a youth hostel and I was in the Navy.

Thank you all for the well wishes. I find it comforting that so many of our members have been married for a long time in this time of easy divorce. There are always bumps along the way, but if you ride them out, the good times far outweigh the bumpy ones!

I agree....I've been inspired for years by the words to an Oak Ridge Boys recording.

It takes a little rain to make love grow
It's the heart ache and the pain
That makes a real heart show
Where the sun always shines
There's a desert below
It takes a little rain to make love grow

The rainy days make the flowers bloom on the sunny ones.
