I got a call from Woodcraft that the Delta 46-460 that I had on backorder had come in. The stand, however, was still backordered until January so I went to Harbor Freight and bought a work bench. Yes, it is set up in my bedroom

Believe it or not, she was cool with me setting up in the bedroom. I have the greatest wife in the world. All she asks is that I clean up after myself, I run the air cleaner while turning, and I open that window that's behind the lathe.

I don't blame you, sleeping with it will give some "hot spinning dreams...!"

I'm certain that the lathe and bench are in "temporary accommodation arrangements" hope you get a more permanent and suited location soon...!

Sorry mate, I've only seen your post after I submitted mine, and let me tell you..., having a wife like that worth a lot of money, on the other hand it shows how keen you are with turning so, folks out there with big work-shops and top of the range set-ups, remember and appreciated fellows like this...!:wink:

Got a question on that workbench. Is it the Windsor Design 93454 that is on sale this weekend for $139? I was just thinking of picking one of those up to put under my daughter's new 46-460. What do you think of the bench?

Yes, it is. I love the bench. Assembly was very straight forward. All the part were labled and easily identified. It seems very solid. I think it was a smart move to get it instead of the Delta stand. Also, the max weight limit for the top is 250 lbs. More than enough for the 46-460.
