Hot off the lathe. I love picking out warped, ugly blanks just to see what's really in there. This is Chichipate wood and the inlay is crushed apatite. I cut it at 45 after it was drilled and glued it on to the tube a little offset to get an uneven groove, then glued the stone in with CA.
Although the blank was planned, the pen is a plan B creation. It was originally meant for another pen entirely, but I had the wrong bushings on it. The bushings weren't even for this executive, but there was enough left on the barrel to switch to these. I ended trimming it down about 1/16 to get the right tip extension on this kit. Oh well, not such a bad mistake.
