Mudder

Finally got some time to turn and here is some that I have completed:

/forum/albums/mudder/tn/tn_Image1.jpg

first is a Red Crushed velvet acrylic cigar.

Next is a home stabilized big leaf maple burl cigar.

Next is a "toolkit" pen from Woodcraft and big leaf maple burl and a hint of red dye.

/forum/albums/mudder/tn/tn_toolkit.jpg

And lastly is my murphy pen, made from silvertree that I got from Clint (McFamilywood)

The Maple burls were finished with BLO, woodturners finish, Beall buff and TSW for good protection & shine.
The silvertree just had the BLO omitted and the crushed velvet was polished with MM.

Comments critiques welcome

Nice job Scott.
If I had to I couldn't pick one oveer the others!
(you should space them out and not post them all at once)

Beautiful work, Mudder. I've never seen silver tree, but I like it. My favorites are the BL maple burl...it's such a great looking wood and you turned and finished it masterfully! [8D]

Mudder, I really like them all, but my favorite is your home stabilized big leaf maple burl cigar. I'm waiting to cut up a 50 lb. maple burl and I hope it looks that good. Nice work! What is silver tree? Silver Maple?

I'm not sure exactly what it is. I think it's a nickname for a North American species. Don't think it's maple but I could be wrong. it has a look like snakeskin.

Nice job! The burls are just NUTS with figure! I think I'm another lemming...I like the burl cigar too - you can really see the great finish in the picture.
