3D printing and epoxy resin

I have been playing around with 3D printing text and simple images. Made this one for my wife who teaches and their mascot is the tigers.

That's really cool !!

So did you 3D-print the whole barrel ? . And in its final shape and size ... or did you also have to turn it down to shape/size ?

Hey guys. I printed a box with the design centered in it. Then filled epoxy resin that I colored black. I also made one with orange resin that I wasn't happy with and am planning to turn back down to the tube and try again.

That's actually pretty darn clever. You 3d printed your mold with built in embedments. Assuming print times are reasonably low and consuming the mold each time is cost sustainable, that is a really great idea.
