That is a 30-06 bullet and the clip is a 30-30.

Looks good. Did you put anything on the brass to keep it from tarnishing?

Nice fit.

I would suggest a different color wood next time. The whole pen just kind of bleeds together. Nothing really 'pops' on it.

The shell casings are not brass but silver in color, hard to tell in pic though, but no I left them as is. I dont know if they will tarnish or not.

skye: while hunting nothing is supposted to "pop".

Blaze Orange aside, true, but we're not hunting.

You said comments were welcome, I'm giving you a comment.

Look around at some of Fangar's casing pens, you'll see what I mean.

The silver color cases are nickel plated and are very durable. I use them for most of my casing pens because no finish is needed on them.

And lever guns are available in 30-06 (and dozens of other calibers too) [:)]

cool i didnt know it was nickle plating.(not gun expert) thats great.
Thanks for the info.
A fried of mine gave me a hand full of them and said see what you can do.(I still need to give him his. Its a 30-06 on bottom and 250
on top.)

Skye: i see what you are saying. i figured that most hunters would know what Poplar is. i find that most of the people looking at buying my pens like local woods that they have heard of.
i agree with them. fangers look great but just not what IM going for.
Thanks for the comment. i have something to strive for.
