Been working on more of these and experimenting with designs and shapes.:)
All three of these need some additional work and only one has a band.
The one on the right is the most recent and I tried to simulate the darkened burn effect at the edge of the ash where it meets the tobacco.
The one on the left I am not happy with.

They all look nice, I think the middle is my favorite as well.

The one of the left, to me has a nice burn mark where the ash meets the cigar, That looks good to me, but the shiny finish says "no cigar".

Thanks all.
These are a blast to make because it gives the the opportunity to try many things.
Sometimes they work out and sometimes I scrape off a bit and start again.
Dave, one of the last things I do is rub the finish with a really fine buffing cloth that takes off the shine. I just didn't give the one on the left enough of a rub.
David, they are indeed textured, carved if you will.

Not yet pens Charlie. But they can and may be depending on what I do with them next.
These are some 'experiments' so I put this post in the 'other things we make' section.

I love the cigar pens you make and hope to someday give it a try. I just cannot figure out the secret of the ash. You have a great niche created for yourself. I congratulate you. Very unique.
