Beautiful Pen! Nice segmenting. It's difficult segmenting with such a shallow angle, as the joints between the different materials get "stretched" a bit. You did very well. I like the slice of metal (Aluminum?), as well as the contrasting woods. It's also a nice touch to mix the long grain of the tan wood (Oak?) and the radial grain of the reddish wood (Padauk?). My only critical comment would be that the diameters are a bit large for the kit, so the clip is flat against the barrel. Not a big deal at all, just not to my taste. I have a customer that requests very large diameter pens regularly, so I know there are people who prefer this design.

Overall, Very nicely done!

Please tell us about the blank and how you made it. From the pictures it looks like the middle part of the blank (darker wood) is cross cut and coated with an amber colored resin. It's a nice effect. Is the finish CA?

The blanks were cut diagonal, one was oak and the other Paduak. I glued aluminum from a red bull can when I glued both diag cuts together. Their is no resin at all, and yes it's a CA finish. I hope this helps?

Very nice! My complements on the segmenting. I have tried a few: some good, others not so good. Three months? Hardly wait to see what you accomplish in the next three months. And, welcome!
