3/4 or 5/8 square?

I realize that some kits require the 3/4 square wood blank due to the diameter of the components. Any one cut your own blanks? Same for cast blanks?

I think most pens can be achieved from a 3/4" square blank, especially if drilled on the lathe. When I sell a blank I usually cut them between 3/4"- 7/8" square. If I make them for me I cut them to the minimum size…. 3/4" for rollerballs and 5/8" for Sierra.
