23 years ago today, my girlfriend and I drove to a wedding chapel in Miami Oklahoma and drove away husband & wife.

She had just graduated & told her parents we were going to visit relatives but we had other plans.

We called the folks from a Branson motel that night with the news. It was the beginning of a beautiful life together!

Eric, Congratulations as the father of five girls & my son your choice would have appealed to me but devastated my wife. I am so pleased for you that your marriage is sound and ongoing.

Kind regards Peter.

Thank you.

My wife never had a good relationship with her dad & step mom. (Her mother passed away when she was young.) My mother wanted to see a wedding, but my dad was fine with our decision.

I've been trying to convince my teenage daughters that it's better to run off, but they would rather have a conventional ($$$$$) wedding.

Well you can take a page out of my book --- I have 4 daughters and I told them "You may spend as much money as you like on your wedding -- I am spending $5000.00" It worked.
