As a result of this recent poll: 2020 BASH IAP Collection Contests, the
Pretty Wood Pen Contest,
The Segmented Pen Contest, and the
Kitless Pen Contest will be designated as "IAP Collection Eligible."
This simply means that for these three contests, the winner of the contest has the OPTION to donate his/her pen to the collection. If they decline, the option is extended to the runner-up.
This is only an option, with no expectation of a donation. Some past winners have gracefully added their pen to the permanent collection, others have declined. This truly is only an option.
Additions to the IAP Pen Collection, are limited, and one of the primary avenues is the annual BASH Contests in February. Of the 59 pens in the Collection, 12 have come from donations from the BASH Contests.
As of now, the IAP Collection has had 33 displays, and have been viewed by many woodturners, penturners and interested visitors at shows and symposiums: IAP Collection Display History.
