Congratulations on your wins, Greg !!!! . Very beautiful pens !!!

Haven't got my prize yet ... first in the Freestyle Pen Contest ... don't know if it has even been shipped yet, or even decided on. There seems to be a question about shipping the big glue package across the border into Canada.

I hope Cmiles1985 and Jeff read this post and let me know what has been decided. . I have PM'ed them both but haven't heard.

Thanks!
I started this thread cause I was hoping to get a look at some of the prizes. The glue kit was of interest to me. And of course... it is fun to see what people make with their winnings.

Received a package from Bear Tooth Woods yesterday with my winnings from the wood ID contest . A Ghost trails call blank and an Amalgam-Mutt Silver ore lava call blank .

Thank you very much , Ernie ! Your instructions are to turn my creativity loose . Not something that I have a lot of . Hope you will settle for a strictly functional use . It won`t be a call . Pictures when done , if I can find the misplaced camera .

I posted my trivia prize BOB in another thread, but here it is again. I've already made three pens from it, with more in the works--it was a very generous gift from tbroye. I'm still deciding on how to best spend my gift certificate from Woodturninz (thanks, Ryan!) for my third place finish in the Turning Impaired contest.

The BASH was very good to me this year. I entered several contests, with the goal of trying to improve on prior years. I'd like to see more people submit entries in all contests. I know that some of my winners would pale in comparison to some of the talent that shows up daily.

The following picture shows on the left a BOB from southernclay for Shop Life Photo contest, a mug from BOB Leibo for the Ballpoint contest, 6 Elegant Lady kits from Golden Nib for the Get it Done contest, and the contents of a BOB from CWalker935 for the Trash Talk contest. Thanks again, Warren, Bob, Anthony, and Cody.

Here's a close-up of the BOB from southernclay. There's some nice blanks in there; I've already tubed a couple.

Cody included some stamp casts. I'm a fan of Johnny Cash; whenever a Cash song plays in the shop, the tools go quiet. Elvis is grinning like I was when I received the box. I've ordered a Gearshift kit and Civil War kit for the other two.

I'm going to have to make a small shelf below my plaque for last year's Ball Point Contest as a place to keep Bob's mug.

The very generous glue package from Swagopenturner for the Ball Point Contest and 2 lb package of Alumilite for Trash Talk arrived recently. Thank you again, Mark and Alumilite Corp.

I'm appreciative for the GCs from TurnTex, PSI, LazerLinez, Woodturningz. Thank you again, Curtis, PSI, Constant, and Ryan. The BOB from hdbblue, and a tool from EWT are on the way.

The second best part is that I have a bunch of great pens.

Trivia winner day 12

I got these from Bob (BSea) he asked what I liked and I said the 7 sea blank, and Bronco as they were in the Super Bowl and I live in Denver and that my daughter went to the USNA (United States Naval Academy). Boy did he out do himself. These blanks are totally awesome. I am so sorry I did not post earlier but life happens. But I am going to have a ball turning all the "sea" ones. Will be putting them on the PSI Nautical. Thanks again Bub you went above and beyond.

Specials thanks to Rherrell Awesome BASH deals.

Not a winning but definitely a BASH gloat. A tool rest set for my PSI Commander 10 and Powermatic. 6 rest, 4 round and two flat, two 5/8th post and one 1 inch post plus two Sanding Mills 2.0 for less than two robust rest. Don't get me wrong I have a robust rest and it is nice but these are all interchangeable between a mini lathe and a mustard giant. Rick Herrell is awesome to deal with and the packaging was outstanding, he packages this order like they were faberge eggs. A man proud of his product and he should be. Plus his 20 percent off during the BASH what can you say but WOW awesome vendor on this site. Thanks Rick can't wait to try them out as soon as Colorado gets out of the deep freeze.

I was fortunate to win 5 prizes in this year's BASH with three 2nd-place finishes: Trash Talking, Shop Life & Library Article.

I won a $25 GC from Woodturningz and a $50 GC from Jeff Filchum (Skewer). I combined those two prizes plus a few greenbacks from my wallet to place an order with Woodturningz for some new turning tools, some pen kits and a nice, engraved olivewood pen box. I'll post the box & pen that I made for it in the SOYP forum, but the tools that I bought are shown below.

I also won a Satellite City glue package, a Caballero package from Smitty's pen works and a package of acrylic blanks from Bear Tooth Woods.

Thanks to Leroy & Jeff and all the folks at Woodturningz, Bear Tooth Woods & Satellite City for these fantastic donations. And thanks to everyone who thought that my entries were worthy of your votes.

Edgar

Ron's Paua Abalone Shell Blanks

I got real lucky in the donation drawing and won the shell blanks that Ron Robbins makes, thanks again Ron. The other day I made my first pen with these, a platinum Virage, but I didn't have it long, the Wife got it. Fortunately I have more blanks.

Looking forward to making the others.

Three very happy kids with blanks from the kids contests - via the Minnesota IAP chapter.
Thanks guys! Now I'll have to fight for some time on my lathe!

Maybe it is time to plan and up-grade for yourself and allow the kids one lathe to share. Might just start a new trend in the household. "Hey Sis? Want to trade this blank for those two you have?" Or "Little Brother....Here is my smaller carbide tool. I am moving up to a bigger one. Going to make it myself!"

We are so very happy that we (MN Chapter) can promote the hobby to the kids. Keep up the good work there Dad!

Recieved my box of blanks from Gary in FL. on Monday. I see some nice pen in my future.

Of course, the Loosers Train has always been good to me. LOL Thank you everyone.
