Rules for the Embedded Object Casting Contest:


1 - For your entry to qualify for this contest the blank must be constructed by first casting your object in resin. Then it must be drilled, tubed and turned. Be creative and unique!

Prizes
First: Mbroberg $100 gift cert to IAP vendor of chc $100.00
Second: CSUSA- Easy Pen Turn tool (104-526) $89.00
Third: Rherrell Two pin chucks $34.00

The top 3 vote recipients will be entered in the finals poll to determine the prize distrobution.

This is a Magnolia pod cast in baby blue and silver alumilite put on a chrome virage rollerball

When I cut up a block of Alumilite White that I had cast in red, white, and blue, I got a pile of tri-color saw shavings. I thought they looked interesting, so I packed some into a mold and cast them in Alumilite Clear. This is the result

Blue and white Alumilite shavings ( from another casting entry went bad ) mixed with clear Alumilite. Blank was reverse paintedlight blue.

Antler bits cast in clear with the blank reverse painted red. The blank was then sanded inside and reverse painted again with black. Placed on a Cambridge.

I used <ACRONYM title="Google Page Ranking">PR</ACRONYM> with a copper pearl ex power to cast a copper scrub pad.

Pen is made from 2 part epoxy and wood veneer. Closed shows a u boat chasing a merchant ship and open shows the u boat andthe wreckage of the merchant ship.

Hey, I just discovered something.....:biggrin:

I voted while I was downstairs in the bar with my Kindle...

I decided today, whilst driving up past Loch Lomond, Loch Fynne and the majestic Loch Awe, that I really want to move back to Scotland before they vote on independance. ( That way I get a vote :biggrin:)
