1st week on the lathe!

Just wanted to share my 1st turnings with you guys. The mushroom was the first thing I ever turned. It is made of Ironwood (top) and Maple (bottom). The pen was next, and was made with the help/teaching of Bill Bettag/wood butcher.The main wood is Afzelia burl and the inserts are Cocobolo. The letter opener is made of Amboyna burl. All are CA finished. I have fallen in love with this hobby and can't wait to turn my next piece.

That looks preddy darn good for first turnings. The quality will only get better with practise.
