1st segmented turning

Thanks to the tutorials here I made my 1st segmented,scalloped blank.My buddy asked me for a letter opener to give to his sister.He's a carpenter so he wanted me to use wood.I thought segmenting would give it a carpenters theme.

Maple burl with angle cut wenge on the main body,Scallops are walnut and mystery burl.Accent material is aluminum flashing.

I love the aluminum accents. When I make them, they are the first to go. Looks really great!

How did you glue up the aluminum?
