It's been a while! We welcomed our first child last August, and he has been a delight and a joy (and a mess and a constant source of exhaustion haha) but life since had been much too busy to get back to the lathe until recently. So this is my first pen for about a year. It is for a family member who likes cars and was intrigued by my description of fordite, and I decided to try making a segmented pen. I had made a table saw sled last year and put on a high tooth count crosscut blade for fine, precision cutting, and that made the prep much easier than I was expecting. Posting it because I have missed this forum and its lovely people. I have learned a lot here and am regularly inspired by the creativity and skill of all of you. Anyway, enough rambling.
