I received my lathe yesterday day and turned my first pen today. It is a Vesper with gold parts. I decided to make the Vesper since it only used one blank to incase I had a major malfunction. I gave it a good sand with 320 sand paper and a light coat of varnish. Nothing fancy to start with.

Great start. I like the shape. I am personally not a big fan of straight sided wooden bodied pens so you going with the body shape you chose gets bonus points from me.

Very nice. Glad to see everybody not starting with a slimline. They are actually harder than the larger pens. As someone else asked, what wood is that?

It is a blank out of a colored blank set from PSI
