You guys inspired me to do my first closed end. It's a Bocote (I had/have a bunch of the stuff to work with) Jr Gent rhodium with abalone finial. 3rd finial and first time with abalone. Yes, I was careful about the dust. I turned the body a little too far, so it took a ridiculous 45 coats of thin CA (its all I had) to bring it back up to an appropriate size for finishing! 25 on the cap. The photos dont really capture the colors of the abalone, but its a nice looking bit, with lots of green and purple.
The shape of the body is inpired/stolen from pens Ive seen by drgortex. So thanks Ken!
Didnt drill this one quite deeply enough. I had to trim the cartridge converter by about 1/8", and would use a thin slice of surgical tube instead of a spring for RB.
I love it, but then, I always love my last pen.
If I had to turn this in for a grade, what would you give it?
Thanks for looking and/or your replies!
