12" DeWalt DW716

Bought myself a new toy . Took a quick trip to the city and was going to get the 10" DW13 but then spotted this 12" one on sale and couldn't resist so paid the extra bucks and also bought a 100 tooth Freud Diablo blade for it.
Spent an hour setting it up and changing the saw blade and tweaking the numerous settings.
Next will be to make the same Jig as Malcolm Tibbetts shows on his DVD and recheck as often as necessary until I get it dead on accurate.
Got tired of forever changing back and forth from rip blade to crosscut blade when using my table saw for cutting hundreds of segments .

I have a DeWalt 12" CMS almost the same, accept for the way the handle is shaped. Great saw, very positive clicks when dialed in. Stays in tune to, once set. Carl

Nice saw, I have the dw708 but the front bearing on the motor just went out. Il either have to replace the bearing and armature or buy a new saw.

I have the same saw (or the previous model if there was one) along with the dewalt horse and base that bolts onto the saw and just clips onto the horse. I have been beating it for about 3.5 years now doing interior trim have not had one problem with it at all love it.

I have this same saw! Put a "pen blank cutter" on it, maked on the fence where the cutter should be re-attached, and put it on a CMS "wheelie cart" It is a workhorse!

I also do picture framing, you WILL NOT be disappointed with the Frued blade!

I am surprised how much quieter the belt drive makes this saw compared to others I have heard. I was expecting it to be screaming loud in a 12" size but it is so much quieter that I don't need ear protection at all when using it . I love the fast acting brake too.

Just finished making my segment cutting jig for the CMS tonight and kept tweaking it until I got it scary accurate and then made one of those table saw jigs like have been shown by several people for taking a whisker cut off the half rings.
Both are working great so I am now thinking of making a 12" disk sander that can be easily taken on and off the lathe for sanding segments . Got another real good on site plan for one of those today .
