101st Airborne

I made this Bolt Action Pen for my Brother-in-Law. He served with the 101st. I altered a pen box to make it resemble the crates the military uses to store their arms and ammo.

The pen box was purchased from Berea. I removed the hinges and clasp, then spray painted olive drab. After I reassembled I realized I should have painted the hinges and clasp black. The rope handles was purchased from Hobby lobby. I drilled holes on the sides (not all the way through) and glued the ends in. My attempt at decals was a failure and I couldn't find a stencil small enough for the name and branch. I ended up going to a trophy store and had brass plates made.
