100 year old mesquite with brass peppermill

One of my blind turners made this. The wood was a limb from a hundred year old mesquite. It was very hard and had some big cracks that he filled with brass key filings.

I just took a snapshot, so it isn't a great picture, but it shows the brass inlay.

I don't do that style of pepper mill, but love making them... I like the effects he created with the brass.... when I worked at Lowe's several years back, I saved all the key filings I could get my hands on... even had other clerks saving them for me... they look good in some turnings.



An excellent job.
