Just wondering if many others use these adjustable link-belts as an up-grade for any belt driven equipment.

Over the past five years or so I have converted everything I own that has a belt driven system to use these link belts and after five or more years I have yet to have ANY problems. The big difference is POWER transfer to what ever the belt is used to turn. My automobile runs wayyyyyy smoother, much better on gas mileage, and that annoying scream from the AC start-up completely disappeared which was something the dealership couldn't solve. DUH!

I put these belts on my JET drill press and have yet to find the need to adjust the tension as was constant with the original V-belts. And all the vibrations are gone as well.

Here are some local prices ... and there is a spread for the exact same belt. Best price is in RED.

ROCKLER - 1/2'' Power Twist Plus Link V-Belt - Rockler Woodworking Tools
Sold by the foot for $9.77, and, a 4 FT pack for $24.99 (Regular price is $35.69

WOODCRAFT - http://www.woodcraft.com/category/2020051/power-twist-link-belt.aspx
Sold by the foot for $10.99, and, a 4 FT pack for $36.99

HARBOR FREIGHT - Vibration Free Link Belt
FIVE FOOT PACKAGE - $23.99 (breaks down to $4.798 a foot) and the belt material is green. (Great idea ... one red link then one green link, repeat, and you have a Christmas belt. Great idea for that special Redneck family member).

According to the information from the following link there are two manufactures of this type of belt. One makes a green version and the other makes their's red. In the authors trials he doesn't find much difference ... or at least not that much to worry about.

Any comments other than the one obvious one I can see coming? (NO - there is no link belt available for grooved pulleys!)
