I suppose I should let you know of my background. I am new to pen turning and I have made about 5 pens, 3 with the same type of wood throughout and 2 multicoloured ones because of blowouts haha

Welcome from Texas! During USAF tenure, landed initially at Melbourne during early 80's to play war games with Australian & New Zealand forces. Spent about 4-5 weeks in your country. Really enjoyed it!

What "big one" are you referring to? They stopped selling the Foster's brand name over here a long time ago. I can't remember if it's Carlton Draught or Victoria Bitter.
