I never heard of the stuff until you posted, I like it!!!
It's a tricky material to work with, has a tendency to delaminate when a cutting edge meets an edge. I found I get fewest disasters if I turn it using negative rake scrapers till the flats are gone then wet-sand the rest of the way.
 
Thanks Chuck! I do too, but haven't quite figured out why. Do you think it's because there's more of the swirly resin visible?
I think it's more of a design element along with arrangement of the pieces in just the right amount of the swirl and color. Whatever it is, I like it.
