Got some old wood from a man who used to make xylophones. He passed, so I have no information about the wood. It is very dense and heavy, took pictures of the sides and the top of the sample piece. Any idea of what it might be?

Rosewood is/was a very common wood used for xylophones.

Are you interested in selling a few pieces? My wife and I were both percussionists in high school.

That is some great wood and will make some very nice looking pens, and other things! Enjoy it and post some picts when you make some pens or even something else!
