Even though it's a common domestic wood the simplicity sure is lovely. American Elm with in house cast Fire Agate.

I will favor many of the 'common domestic timbers.' As a lover of wood in general, a lot of the common woods are great. However... I wish I lived in SW Australia and could claim their 'common' domestic timbers. 🤣 🤣 🤣
Yes, our domestic wood options are fairly limited and not nearly as dramatic..but looking closely at them they still have positive attributes.
 
I think this is stunning. Even though its a simple wood, there is something about wood that carries a classic elegance, that modern resins just can't compete with. Love the photography! :O Love it!
 
That is beautiful! I rather like the blonde color of elm, though I'm not sure it's really more fun. Sycamore is nice, too.

My neighbor has a European elm (that's what all my research and apps have led to, anyway) that I got a bit of from a large branch that came off years ago. It has beautiful grain and even a bit of color variation.

This wand is definitely American Elm, cut and kiln dried locally.
