Very interesting and you've hidden how you accomplished it very well!
It just opened the eye.... LOL The trick is a holesaw (92 mm) and 3 blanks. First a piece of wenge 1 inch by 1 inch, 3 inches long cut from 2 sides to make the eye. I don't cut completely through the wood, 1/32 is left. When done the wood breaks easy and the eye is carfully sanded.
Then 2 blanks 3/4 square and long enough for the sierra. carefully cutting a little too much out of the side (86mm holesaw). With a thin veneer between it fits perfectly. On the discsander the padauk blanks are sanded until it fits perfectly, Slowly is a must!!! Clamping all together and thin ca glue over all joints. let it soak in and another bit of ca glue. thats all.... drilling and so on.
