"Yôgan Nuri" is a new, experimental Urushi Lacquer.
The lacquer shows "glowing" magma pockets in a cooled lava field. The magma pockets represented by Nashiji lacquer in rough Ishime-ji ground achieved with charcoal grains and dry lacquer. Hard to capture in pictures

Best regards,

Martin

Martin - this looks like a wonderful concept, I can see just enough to get a mental picture of how it might be in real life.

If you manage to take pictures that come closer to showing the full effect I'd love to see them. Perhaps a short video of the pen slowly turning would do it?

Thanks for sharing!
