I just ordered up my first trustone blanks. I want to make them look good and have been reading all i can. I know everyone uses polish and buffs and such, but what about wetsanding?

So far I've only had a chance to turn 1 of my several tru-stone blanks and I wetsanded to 12000 and used PlastiX scratch remover in place of one step. From everything I read in my research says to wetsand and sometimes you may have to cool your blank while turning bc of the material. Now they say you really have to do that for the harder/brittle blanks so you may want to check out R and B crafts website. They give a description of which blanks are more difficult plus a way to turn each type. Hope this helps!

Wet sanding?

I would wetsand with MM as with any other blank. I would most likely spend more time with each grit because of the increased hardness of the trustone. The object of wetsanding as I understand it is to carry off the sandinf residue and to keep the abrasive from clogging up.
