Hello, I normally don't do bigger drywall jobs, but times are tough so I need to bid the job.I do small stuff like bathrooms when I do remodels, but the normal sq. ft. prices don't apply to that type stuff. This is a mid-sized job with many angle so its not an easy flat/square job.I need help with current square foot prices for just the hanging/tape/mud.Please any info. will help maybe you had some work done and tell me what you paid and when.Thank everyone,Victor

Are you trying to get a price per sf of drywall surface area or per squre foot of floor area? If sf/floor area, that is a dangerous number to use since there are too many variables such as high ceilings, etc. It is ok for a ball park number but that is it.

I pay $22-23 per 4x8 sheet (we hang 4x12 but they still figure it at the equivalent of 4x8 for some reason), turn key on the custom homes that I build. This includes the rock, hanging, tape, float, and texture. Bullnose corners and special finishes are extra. I am in Texas, though, so I would imagine our rates are less since our cost of building is less.

Curtis...send me your subs!!!!! I just went through a bidding round for our production drywall and the lowest I could get was $28 for 4x8 sheet (yes, our guys use 12 or 14's, but price on 4x8)

I'm just looking for a ball park number to start with ,as this jog has many angles so I would have to add for that. Thanks Jon/Curtis these numbers will get me close enough to give a good bid.Much appreciate the input.Victor

We are trying to buy a commercial condo in Galveston predicated upon the sale of this hoiuse in Conroe. We need the drywall replaced. Do you travel to Galveston?

Man I can't believe this I use to figure .70 Sq. Ft. (that is wall footage) In 1988 in Ca and that is when bullnose first came out and I would figure 1.00 lin. Ft. for bullnose and .10 for hand finish skip trowel or sand finish. Sounds like Texas is still around the same as it was 20 years ago in Ca. I built custom home in ca for 15 years.

Yeah, and I pay a premium on my drywall so that I assure I get the best finished product I can get! Most of the builders around here are getting it done for $20/sheet!

They just finished with the texture on a 6,000 sf home I am building. My sub asked for $21/sheet and I told him I would give him $22.50 but I wanted a really top notch job. He also primed everything before texture for an additional $600!
