Has anyone purchased the new Colt Maxicut forstner bits??? If so what is your opinion??? Are they worth the money and meet all the hype??? Are they better than carbide bits??? I am looking to get a set of forstner bits and am tired of using ones that just dull out so fast. I have using the Titanium coated ones. I can never resharpen them as well as they were when new.

If you did purchase the Colts, where did you get them from for the best price??? Thanks for the replys and have a great day.

I read a positive review of them in one of the woodworking rags. I can't remember which one, but they said they work well.

I watched the video and they worked great but have not seen them in person. I have been waiting for someone local to carry them so that I can try one out. My Porter Cable set is not working really great.

I have a couple greenlee forstners that are carbide tipped-----the Colts would really have to be something to bet them. The greenlees are about 4 times the money.

Well I ordered a set and will post my findings. These are not for pens but other woodworkings and I use alot of forstner bits.

John did you get the ten piece set?
Let me know what you think of them. I only have two of the greenlee's and need a good set myself.

No I got the 5 piece set from infinity tools. They have the 5/8, 3/4 and the 1-3/8" ones that I am most interested in. I almost got the one from Lee Valley because they were cheaper but after further looking they had smaller sized bits in it. I will order seperate ones from here out if need be. Those are the sizes I use the most for the projects I do alot of. A little expensive but if you buy 2 lesser brand ones it works out close to the price of one of these. They got great write-ups so time will tell. I am hard on forstner bits.
