Closed End and complete custom finial

Ok, this is my first closed ended pen. It is also my first complete custom finial. I shaved the CB. It is MM to 12000 and buffed.

I made a pin chuck today from a HF punch and a wire nail. Worked fine. Anyways, comments welcome.

Certainly not for me, but just in case others want to know, what the heck is a pin chuck and why would I need one? BTW, nice pen!

A pin chuck is basically a rod that fits snuggly in the tube of the closed end side. And you file down a spot that a pin fits in which locks the rod with the tube so you can turn it.

Very nice looking pen. I like the shape and the custom finial, I've never tried doing either one of them - some day I need to get away from the basic shape I do to all my pens.

The pen looks very nice Hans. I'm not sold on the shape of the lower barrel, but I really like the finial.

Keith, I hear you. I was just going for something different. I think I accomplished that However, so far, I am enjoying it and it kinda grows on you
