Well, I got the official word today; I'm FIRED! Not really fired just jobless, they are cancelling our contract ahead of schedule. It was supposed to go through May 2011 but they decided to end it May 09…so in about 60 days I'll be on extended vacation :(

I am sorry to hear that Eugene. I hope that you will be able to find a new job before you are jobless. Take care.

Tough time to go through this Eugene. Losing a job is never fun, but perhaps this an opportunity to "open" another door.

Hey Eugene,

You seem like a guy with many skills, so I doubt you'll be out long. I guess the uncertainty is the worst of it.

You could always start a tour group to Roatan! I'd love to have a detailed account of your trip.

Keep your Spirit up!

Dale

Dang Eugene, I hate to hear that. The husband of one of my assistants is going down the same road. The company closed the branch office he was manager of with 2 weeks notice!

I hope you have success in finding another job soon.

All of the above said and more so. You have great talent, it won't be long before you find a job! But ya got to get out there and look. Its like thinking you will win the lotto, but alas, you must buy the ticket too!! I have faith in you!!!!

Eugene,

Sorry to hear the bad news. No matter how talented, I think it's never any fun looking for a job. I've spent most of my career working in small, startup companies and several times found myself having to brush up my job hunting skills when the companies shut down.

Good luck!

Sorry to hear that Eugene. Last time I saw you at our pen turning meeting you seemed excited about your new job and even said you had to go out and get a whole new wardrobe. Was use to seeing you in shorts and tee shirt. Hope your pen blank bussiness holds you over till you find another job. Good luck.

Very tough break Eugene:frown:

But like has already been said, you are skilled enough to bounce back with a vengeance. and I'm sure you will.
Good luck

A friend of mine worked for AMP before it was bought by Tyco. He was "let go" but his replacement botched up the job so badly, they contacted him and wanted to rehire him. He agreed for twice the money.... :)

Eugene, during these hard times, its always hard hearing that someone in our family has lost their job, and we are one big family here, we all wish you luck.

Sorry to hear about that Eugene. I got freinds getting pink slips left and right, Wish you luck my freind........ If I can help in any way let me know.

Thanks all for the kind words...I just got done sending out my resume out to 3 other "leads". Things happen for a reason so I won't lose sleep over it (yet). I still have 2 months left on the contract and so still have time to look before this one runs out. :)
Thanks, Eugene.

Eugene, Good luck I hope you find something you enjoy, there have been a lot of layoffs around here, even the company that does Toyota engine block casting in Jackson did a buy out, I never thought Toyota would have to pull in their horns, but at least Bodine is offering a good severance deal.

Eugene, I'll be hoping that you land an even better job.
I'm very sorry to hear about this.
Layoffs and closings are rampant right now all over.

Hate to ask the obviouse (to me at least), what is it that you do to support your pen habit??
Never know where you will find a lead . . .
