Wow I like it but no cash to spare.
Buyer must pickup machine on sight.
It has been pulled, I bet it sold.
I'd thought about buying and selling the motor to recoup the cost of the saw and then keeping it until I have the dream shop to put it in.
FWIW, even the old three phase motors will only get you $50 tops. Newer ones are the same way. If you have a newer 5 horse 3 phase you may be able to get $100.
Still...have you ever seen a unisaw sell for $200 bucks? even at that price it was a steal. I'm just too poor and space challenged or I would have owned it and not posted about it! :frown:
Since he said in the post that you could see it run, I doubt it was that bad off. Just talking about it makes me sad that I couldn't afford it! That and the wifey would have killed me!Yes, I have. Some even cheaper. I used to buy/sell/restore older Unisaws and know what the parts cost, what parts break, and what sells and doesn't sell. Heck, if anyone ever needs a base or cabinet I have a pile, and if you need other parts, I probably have those as well. I even have an 80's 3 hp single phase sitting in storage waiting for a buyer.
Anyway, The drawback with older Unisaws is that the motors were generally 1.5hp or less, with single phase normally being 1.0hp or less. In real terms, Delta (when they were made) said the motors would develope max HP of somewhere around 3.0hp before they stalled. The motors run well and I have one in my table saw. The problem is in parts and what they cost. That saw could have been worth $500, or it could have been worth $50 depending on the condition of what you could see/can't see. If the guy wanted pick up upon arrival, then he'd better be able to give some spot on info before someone picked it up. OTOH, I'd bet that someone had it in their vehicle within 4 hours of posting, if not 1 hour or less.
