I'm starting to fall in love with a 12 volt cooler that I bought to use for tailgating at the College World Series this year. It has two compartments that can be set independently. I keep the bigger one set to 34F (about 1C) for hamburger, hotdogs, soda pop, salads, and stuff. The other one I keep at -4F (about -20C) for Ice Cream cones and other novelties. So far it's been working great!

It uses about 80 Watts when the compressor is running and it can be powered from a plug in power supply, an automotive 12 V (cigarette lighter) plug, a solar panel, or its own internal battery.

We took it on a short trip today and even with it unplugged in the car for about 2 hours, the battery was only down to about 40%. It was around 90F so likely over 100F (37C) in the car.

It was sure nice to pull an ice cold soda pop out when we got back into the blistering hot car!

Wasted on food ! How much beer can it hold ?

I found it online as I was searching for 12v cooler reviews. The company is called BougeRV which I think was originally started in Texas to support outdoor campers. The one I bought is their CRD 52 Quart along with the internal battery. I didn't buy their solar panel though, instead I bought one from Harbor Freight and ordered a power cable from Amazon. The battery has a controller built in so all I needed was the panel and not a separate controller/regulator. Their Bluetooth app is really nice too so I can easily check on the status and change the settings without having to use the buttons and display on the cooler itself. - Dave

It can hold 72 regular sized cans or about 30 bottles! - Dave
