I'm not sure if it's happened just recently either with my AdBlocker, or the tracking sites these suppliers use, but when I get "news letters" or "sale ads" from sites I subscribe and buy from, the links in Gmail will not work. They work fine if AdBlocker is turned off, however, like I said they used to work as of a few weeks ago. I'm in contact with AdBlocker as of this post, and I'm told that the reason links are "flashing" then disappear, is due to tracking code in the link which AdBlocker is blocking for my protection.

I checked the link to these images that say "Shop Now" or "Buy Now", or even an image link of a pen blank, and it shows the following website, ctrk.klclick .com also known as Klaviyo.

After further investigation and chats I've had, it seems AdBlocker has doubled it's pickiness and is preventing these things. Microsoft's stand alone Defender (which I don't use) also seems to have been acting up with many people.

IF you come across this, this may be the issue. Waiting to hear back from AdBlocker to get a fix.

If this post is not in the correct forum or violates it's rules, please move or delete it.

That's pretty typical for SHOPIFY whose privacy policy says "We WILL share your information with everyone that WE think appropriate" That is independent of the vendor policy of "We do not share your info with anyone"

Yep; Hate the companies business model that consists of tracking data and selling it to all comers. "We don't share your information, but another company we contracted with does!"
I'm looking at you Ed.

Where did you find this statement? I have looked at their many privacy policies for the past two hours and cannot locate anything like this..
Please provide a link,

Artificial intelligence has the ability to scan records quickly and accurately, so I asked it to verify the statement: Can you find this statement from Shopify: "We WILL share your information with everyone that WE think appropriate"

The reply follows: Quoting Google AI
The short answer: No — there is no evidence that Shopify has ever published a statement saying "We WILL share your information with everyone that WE think appropriate."
A full search of Shopify's official privacy policies and related documents shows nothing even close to that wording. Instead, Shopify's policies consistently emphasize limiting data sharing and only doing so for specific reasons such as providing services or complying with law.

What Shopify actually says about sharing information

Across Shopify's official privacy policies, the language is the opposite of the quote you provided. For example:

  • Shopify states that if a third party requests your personal data, "we will refuse to share it unless you give us permission or we are legally required."
  • They also say they share information only with companies that help provide Shopify's services.
None of the official documents contain language resembling "share your information with everyone we think appropriate."

Hopefully this meets with the approval of the two members above.
More important, hopefully this reassures our customers that any information they share with us is protected to the best of our ability!!
