Was painting the inside of a tube with black. First...wouldn't spray worth a flip. Second, paint was thin as I could hold up the blank and see places that lacked any paint. This was the cheap brand at Lowe's which was bought for a project where quality wasn't needed. Looking at Rustoleum or Krylon at the box stores: Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace hardware. Your help is most appreciated.
BTW, the blank was almost transparent in about 50% of the length; paint is needed. Tried painting acrylic craft paint but the tube scraped it off. Arrggh!

I'm a big fan of spray lacquer because it dries so fast. Usually completely dry in about a half an hour, especially with a fan kind of blowing through the hole on the blank. - Dave

Thanks. Purchase on hold for a couple of days as we have two inches of snow and getting more. 17 now, high of 24 today and low of 15 tomorrow morning and high of 34. Heat wave! FWIW, I was born and raised in central Ohio. There you know what snow is really like. Have seen two inches in one hour.

I have an alternative suggestion. I normally don't do large scale projects. More or less one at a time. I use a water base acrylic paint you can get at Hobby Lobby or Michael's. It comes in a large section of colors. I cast snake skins and a lot of cloth so in can change the tint of the final blank. Your only draw back would be one at a time. Good luck.

Kenny, I have a whole array of colors from Michael's. Ed at Exotic Blanks says the paint will not like epoxy which is what I use.

I've used various ones that were sitting around, but have been the happiest with Krylon. It goes on smoothly and dries quickly. I use Gorilla clear for the tubes, which has not bothered the paint at all.

As for the snow, I understand that. We've gotten about 6" so far in the NC Piedmont, which is very unusual. At least it's powder so I can easily snow blow. The ice last week sucked, but I'm from Buffalo, so the snow doesn't really bother me. Still, that's one of the reasons I moved south.

I use CA and epoxy. So far I haven't had any issues with it. It works well to fill my needs so that's what I use. As mentioned earlier I use it for other reasons as well. When I first started using it I needed a paint that was flexible and wouldn't flake off. It worked well for that so I started using it for other applications.
